Physiotherapy
What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is an evidence-based health science, which is used to assess and treat musculoskeletal and some neurological pain, injuries and movement disorders.
Physiotherapy treatment techniques involve a range of tools including massage, dry needling, exercise rehabilitation as well as education around posture, health and movement.
What to Expect from Formotion Physiotherapy
-
A typical physiotherapy assessment begins with a discussion to understand you, your health history and a discussion about your pain or functional issues. We find out what your goals are and what it is you would like to get back to.
We then move into a physical assessment where we look at things like movement and posture, joint and muscle testing, pain and functional screening. We utilise technology like Force plates and dynamometry so we can get really clear information on where your strengths lie and what we need to work on.
We identify root causes, explain findings, and create a personalised treatment and rehab plan that aligns with your goals.
Our treatment then begins integrating hands-on therapy, exercise prescription and return-to-activity strategies. -
Treatment typically consists of an integration between hands on therapy, like massage, dry needling or taping and your personalised exercise or movement rehabilitation plan.
Sessions blend injury management with gym-based conditioning, to get you pain-free, stronger and returning to sport or daily life safely in alignment with your goals.
We use app based technology to deliver your programs so you’ll never walk out the door without knowing exactly what your plan is, what your exercises are and what the pathway to recovery looks like.
-
While we do often see instant improvements during our sessions, it is important to understand that Physiotherapy is a collaboration between the therapist and you.
To make sustainable positive changes take patience, and require that you take an active role in your recovery.
As your Physios, we will go out of our way to understand you, empower you with a better understanding of your body, and provide you with the tools and strategies you'll need to make and keep those improvements.
