Lorena holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Curtin University and is an accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach.
With this combination of skills and experience, she takes a large interest in treating those who are active, alongside athletes of all ages.
Having treated many powerlifters and CrossFitters, she has an ability to think outside the box and apply evidence based practice. Finding a way to get you through your competition or games when injured is her specialty. She places an emphasis on a comprehensive treatment plan, integrating rehab into your training and clear communication with your coach or PT.
Lorena is the head physiotherapist for the high performing NBL1 Joondalup Wolves, and is well practiced in bridging the gap between rehab and high level performance. Having previously worked with rugby teams and completed mentoring with the Western Force Academy, Lorena has experience in managing both court and field injuries.
Having gone through many injuries herself, she understands first hand how training can help to improve outcomes and performances. She incorporates a combination of hands-on techniques, alongside the prescription of exercise to help her clients get back to the things they love.
Lorena also has an interest in chronic pain and illness. She has the ability to think outside the traditional realms of physio practice to incorporate a more holistic approach to pain management and injury.
Lorena has been around sport her whole life and currently enjoys strength training, yoga, running and dabbling in new forms of sport and movement. Outside of the gym and work you’ll find Lorena drinking coffee and reading or spending time with her dog, Kiko.
