This includes a review of your bone density results (if you have a recent DEXA scan, bring it), and a baseline assessment of your strength, balance and movement.Your ONERO practitioner will then decide on your entry point into the program.

What is ONERO?
ONERO® was developed at Griffith University by Professor Belinda Beck, based on the landmark LIFTMOR study. The research found that high-intensity resistance and impact training, done safely under supervision, is one of the only forms of exercise proven to stimulate new bone growth.
Conventional advice for osteoporosis (walking, swimming, light exercise) does not provide enough mechanical loading to meaningfully improve bone density. ONERO does.
ONERO is endorsed by Healthy Bones Australia and delivered exclusively by accredited practitioners (Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists) who have completed the official ONERO Academy training.
Does ONERO actually work?
Yes. Data from ONERO clinics shows 86% of participants increased bone mineral density at the lumbar spine, and 69% increased bone density at the hip. The program also improves posture, muscle strength, and balance, directly reducing fall and fracture risk. These results come from supervised, targeted training, not generic gym programs.
Is ONERO right for me?
The ONERO program is best for:
- Diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia
- Postmenopausal women concerned about bone health
- Anyone with a family history of osteoporosis or fragility fractures
- Older adults wanting to reduce fall and fracture risk
- People told to "be careful with exercise" who want a safe, structured way to build strength
